An individual medical review. An informed decision.

How stem cell therapy may help with diabetes

Diabetes is a problem of insulin: the pancreas makes too little of it, or the body stops responding to it. Glucose stays in the blood, and over the years it wears on the nerves, vessels, eyes and kidneys. Medication and diet manage the numbers. They do not address the inflammation running underneath them.

Concerns to discuss with your care team

Readings that will not settle

Highs after meals, lows in the night, and a morning number that sets the mood for the day.

A rising medication load

More insulin or more tablets each year, and the side effects that arrive with them.

Tingling, numbness and slow healing

Burning feet, a cut that takes weeks to close, and the worry about what comes next.

The tiredness underneath it all

Energy that runs out by mid-afternoon, and the plans you have quietly stopped making.

Who may be a candidate

Adults with diagnosed type 1 or type 2 diabetes whose control or quality of life remains limited under conventional care may be evaluated. Candidacy is decided by our physicians after a medical review of your history, recent blood work and current treatment, never by a form.

Treatment is not offered where there is active infection, certain cancers, or other conditions identified in review.

What to expect

Investment

Each plan is built for one patient. In your consultation we walk through the full investment and exactly what it includes: cells, clinical care, and the arrangements around your stay.

Questions

Asked before, answered plainly.

Will I be able to stop insulin or my other medication?

We do not promise that. Any change to your medication is a decision for you and your physicians together, guided by your readings. Treatment is studied for its effect on inflammation and metabolic function, not as a replacement for your current care.

Is this for type 1 or type 2 diabetes?

Both may be evaluated. The two conditions have different causes, and the protocol is written for yours. We have a page for each: type 1 and type 2.

How is the treatment given?

Usually by intravenous delivery, so the cells circulate to the tissues involved. The route is decided by our physicians after reviewing your case, in a single visit to our licensed clinic in San José.

When might I notice a change?

Responses vary. Some patients report changes within weeks; others over several months. We follow up with you on a set schedule after treatment.

Who is not a candidate?

Active infection, certain cancers, and some other conditions rule treatment out. Your medical review determines candidacy, not this page.
