An individual medical review. An informed decision.

How stem cell therapy may help with knee osteoarthritis

Osteoarthritis wears down the cartilage that cushions the knee. Conventional care manages the pain; it does not address the joint environment.

Concerns to discuss with your care team

Pain on stairs and after rest

The ache that arrives on the first steps of the morning, or the first flight of stairs.

Stiffness and swelling

A knee that feels tight, warm, or slow to loosen.

Grinding or catching

The sensation of bone on bone as cartilage thins.

Giving up what you enjoy

Walks cut short. Golf, gardening, grandchildren — held at arm’s length.

Who may be a candidate

Adults with diagnosed knee osteoarthritis who have not found sufficient relief from physical therapy, medication or injections may be evaluated. Candidacy is decided by our physicians after a medical review of your history and imaging — never by a form.

Treatment is not offered where there is active infection, certain cancers, or other conditions identified in review.

Questions

Asked before, answered plainly.

Is this an alternative to knee replacement?

It should not be assumed to replace or postpone surgery. Your existing specialist can help you evaluate established options alongside any proposed regenerative treatment. Our physicians will tell you which they believe applies to you, after reviewing your imaging.

How is the treatment given?

Typically as a targeted injection into the knee, sometimes combined with intravenous delivery, in a single visit to our licensed clinic in San José.

When might I notice a change?

Responses vary. Some patients report changes within weeks; others over several months. We follow up with you on a set schedule after treatment.

Who is not a candidate?

Active infection, certain cancers, and some other conditions rule treatment out. Your medical review determines candidacy — not this page.
