Cardiovascular Regeneration

For a heart and circulation that conventional care has protected, but has not brought back.

An individual medical review. An informed decision.

How stem cell therapy may help with cardiovascular regeneration

When heart muscle is damaged it is replaced by scar, which does not contract, and the vessels that feed it are often narrowed or inflamed. Medication, stents and surgery protect what remains and prevent the next event. They do not change the tissue that has already been lost or the inflammation around it.

Concerns to discuss with your care team

Breathlessness and low stamina

Effort that once came easily now needs a rest halfway.

Fatigue

Energy that is spent by early afternoon.

Poor circulation

Cold feet and hands, cramping legs, slow recovery after activity.

Doing less each year

The gradual narrowing of what the heart will allow, and the plans set aside because of it.

Who may be a candidate

Adults with a diagnosed cardiovascular condition that has stabilised under conventional care, but whose function or quality of life remains limited, may be evaluated. This includes weakened heart muscle, cardiomyopathy, damage after a heart attack and poor circulation. Candidacy is decided by our physicians after a medical review of your history, recent cardiac testing and fitness to travel, never by a form.

Treatment is not offered where there are unstable cardiac conditions, a recent heart attack or stroke, active infection, certain cancers, or other conditions identified in review.

Questions

Asked before, answered plainly.

What does cardiovascular regeneration mean here?

Treatment aimed at the heart muscle and blood vessels together, rather than at one diagnosis. It is considered for weakened heart muscle, cardiomyopathy, damage after a heart attack and poor circulation, once each is stable under conventional care.

Does this replace my cardiologist's care?

No. It sits alongside it. Your medication, your cardiologist and any planned procedures continue, and our physicians review your case with that care in mind.

How is the treatment given?

Usually by intravenous delivery, in a single visit to our licensed clinic in San José. The route is decided by our physicians after reviewing your case.

Is it safe for me to travel?

That is one of the first questions your medical review answers. Where travel is not advisable for your heart, we will tell you so.

Who is not a candidate?

Unstable cardiac conditions, a recent heart attack or stroke, active infection, certain cancers and some other conditions rule treatment out. Your medical review determines candidacy, not this page.
