For a back that has been managed for years but never addressed, and the discs, joints and nerves behind the pain.

An individual medical review. An informed decision.

How stem cell therapy may help with back pain

Most back pain care treats the symptom. The disc damage, joint inflammation or nerve irritation underneath it is left to run its course. Medication, injections and therapy bring relief for a while, then the pain returns, and each round of conventional care has less to offer.

Concerns to discuss with your care team

Persistent lower back pain

Stiffness and ache that medication no longer manages.

Radiating pain

Discomfort that travels into the buttock, hip or leg when a disc or joint presses on a nerve.

Numbness and tingling

The pins-and-needles or dull patches that follow the path of an irritated nerve.

A life arranged around your back

Sitting, sleeping, driving, lifting a grandchild. Each one weighed before it is attempted.

Who may be a candidate

Adults with chronic back pain from disc injury, disc degeneration or facet joint inflammation confirmed by MRI, who have not found lasting relief from physical therapy, medication or injections, may be evaluated. This includes patients weighing the risks of surgery or long-term medication. Candidacy is decided by our physicians after a medical review of your history and imaging, never by a form.

Treatment is not offered where there is spinal instability or progressive neurological weakness requiring surgery, active infection, certain cancers, or other conditions identified in review.

The Cellebration approach

Questions

Asked before, answered plainly.

Which back problems do you evaluate?

Herniated and bulging discs, degenerative disc disease, facet and sacroiliac joint inflammation, sciatica and other nerve-related pain, and back pain that stems from the hip. Your MRI tells us which is driving your symptoms.

How is the treatment given?

Typically as image-guided injections at the affected spinal levels, sometimes combined with intravenous delivery, in a single visit to our licensed clinic in San José.

Is this an alternative to spinal surgery?

For some patients it may delay or avoid surgery. For others, particularly with instability or progressive nerve damage, surgery remains the right choice. Our physicians tell you which they believe applies to you.

When might I notice a change?

Responses vary with the cause and severity of the condition. Some patients report changes within weeks; others over several months.

Who is not a candidate?

Active infection, certain cancers, spinal instability or progressive weakness requiring surgery, and some other conditions rule treatment out. Your medical review determines candidacy, not this page.
