How stem cell therapy may help with hair loss
Hair thins when follicles slow or fall dormant, when the scalp’s circulation weakens, or when inflammation interrupts the growth cycle. Topical products and medication can slow the change for some people; a transplant moves hair rather than supporting the follicles you have.
- Mesenchymal stem cells are studied for their ability to reduce inflammation around the follicle.
- Research examines how cell signalling may affect inflammation and the tissue environment. Evidence and clinical outcomes vary by application.
- Treatment is delivered to the thinning areas of the scalp, where it is needed.
- Cells are prepared in our own laboratory and used fresh, never frozen.
- The protocol is written for your scalp, your history and your goals.
Concerns to discuss with your care team
A receding hairline
The gradual change you notice in photographs before anyone mentions it.
Thinning at the crown
Scalp that shows through under overhead light, and a parting that has widened.
Loss of volume overall
Hair that feels finer in the hand and no longer holds the shape it used to.
The confidence that goes with it
Hats you never used to wear, and a mirror you have started to avoid.
Who may be a candidate
Adults in generally good health who want a physician-led, medically supervised approach to hair loss may be evaluated. Every patient has a medical review before treatment. Candidacy is decided by our physicians after a review of your history, the type and stage of your hair loss, and your current health, never by a form.
Treatment is not offered where there is active infection, certain cancers, or other conditions identified in review.
